In Idaho Above Ground Tanks (AST’s) are regulated by the Federal EPA. The State does not regulate AST’s. However, thru the Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (PSTF) you can buy very affordable Insurance if you comply to the EPA guidelines.  The cost to Insure a tank is $25.00 per year. What you will need to be complaint.

• A Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC)
  • Tank storage’s over 10,000 gallons, requires the SPCC to be Certified by an Engineer (See our resource page)
• Secondary containment, at least as large as your largest tank plus 10%. Common option are,
  • Concrete containment
  • Double wall tanks
